- PERCEPTION -

"There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception."
- Aldous Huxley

Different people have the different perceptions. All the perceptions is uniquely our own based from what we see, what we hear, what we smell, what we touch or what we taste. The differences in perception may affect the way we view and understand about others and ourselves.
The video on National Geographic about Test Your Brain Perception is very interesting that show and explain about the relationship between our first impression and our perceptions. In our daily life, we always use passive perceptions which is we simply quickly decide about what we had seen, hear or smell. Beau Lotto, Bas Rokers, John Crawford, Jonah Lehrer, Robin Harlan and Sarah Monat-Jacobs, Josh McDermott, Lera Boroditsky and Cynthia Moss are a scientists, professor, science writer, artists and biologist that had made research about the relationship between perceptions, sounds, language and movement in our life. In this video, it shows that the first impression is not always right and what we hear is not same with what the actual thing is. The game that had been include in this video really helping us on how to program our mind and brain. Our brain is really good at working with limited information to try to understand what might it occur, but of course sometimes it makes mistake too.

From this video, I had learnt about perceptions and how it affects our life and communication. It also shows how perception trick our mind and our brain always be fool by what we see. Bas Rokers had shown some games that trick our brain. One of it is about the experiment of the two bars at the train rail that have exactly a same size. When he pulled the background, the top bar looks bigger then the bottom bar because our brain is making the assumption. Our brain interprets the data that we have from our sight.

After watching the video, I realized that I also always been fooled by my passive perception. I always simply make an assumption and decision towards what I saw and heard without thinking deeply and critically about that. This video is clearly give the examples and explanations that are easy to be understood by others. I think the whole world should watch this video to know more better since everybody have different perception and point of views that may affects our communication with others.

This is the perception's Pyramid that shows
the influences that lead to how we are perceived.

Scientists continue to find the evidence that our brain is remarkably changing.

"Our brain always be fool by what we see." - Beau Lotto

"Determine how object move is one of the most critical skills that our brain has." - Bas   Rokers

"Movement is extremely powerful communication to all." - John Crawford

"Our brain will worked with what we see." Jonah Lehrer

"Perception can be change by what sound we choose to put into it." - Robin Harlan

"Language shape what we think." - Lera Boroditsky

"Younger brain are more adaptable than older brain."- Cynthia Moss

ADIOS AMIGOS.! :D
